  • p1101 sets soon after resetting. after test drive also p0171, p0106, p0300 sets. fuel trims at 33% st and 34% LT at idle. seem good while accelerating and go lean again at a cruise speed. Found that the pcv check valve was ruptured and not in place and it is integral to the intake manifold. advise replacing the intake manifold. the pcv diaphragm in valve cover is also a high fail item and causes this same code and they often go hand in hand but this one is not testing ruptured at this time with the tissue test. Can retest this again after the intake is replaced. After replacing intake manifold the fuel trims still remained high at idle and set p0170 and p1101. advise replacing the valve cover and retesting. required one additional part duriing the valve cover repair. Fuel trims now staying near zero and verified the p0171 and p1101 would not reset while testing.

  • Customer states that oil change place identified leak higher up on engine. Smelled faint odor of burning oil on test drive. Found valve cover leaking down front and rear of engine. Recommend replacing valve cover and spark plugs at the same time.
  • On test drive felt pulsation from rear brakes. Front brakes appear low from through wheel inspection. Remove wheels to measure accurately. Front pads at 3mm for recommended replacement. Rotors older and rusty appear to have been turned before. Rear pads at 5mm. Rear rotors would need replaced to eliminate pulsation.
  • Removed and replaced the front brake pads, rotors and hardware. Cleaned and greased all friction points on the caliper chassis, the guide pins and serviced the calipers pistons. • The right side motor mounts are suspect as having failed and causiing the growl noise on acceleration. advise repacing the right round motor mount and the right side torque/dogbone mount. Also the water pump needs replaced. there is some noises from the water pump area and is clear the water pump is leaking alot. I put the water pump at a higher priority as the motor mount could last indefinitely and is only a noise concern.
  • Re-use stabilizer bar links if possible.
  • SHOCK &/OR STRUT ASSEMBLY – Remove & Install or Remove & Replace – Both – [DOES NOT include align or bleed Brakes.]

  • Exhaust is loud. P0420 code persists for catalytic converter. Engine oil is 1.5q low. Not due by sticker but added 1 quart to check condition and oil is black. Raised vehicle on lift and found exhaust leaks at front muffler and holes in rear muffler. Needs exhaust kit with intermediate pipe. Heat shield removed. Per previous notes on cat/manifold repair: problem does not seem to have gotten worse however hard to identify any new/louder noise from manifold with rest of exhaust bad. Oil change recommended soon.
  • 1. Lubricate and checked chassis. Changed oil and oil filter. Checked all fluid levels and topped off fluids that needed topped. Checked the tire pressure to 32 PSi. 2. Tire tread depth – LF _8_/32, RF _8_/32, RR _9_/32, RL _9_/32. 3. TIRE ROTATION – No, If "No" – Then when? next service 4. Preformed basic safety inspection. Job Completed.
  • Ran engine to operating temperature. Checked heat at dash vents and heat is working well. Scanned for codes with no DTCs. Performed actuator recalibration and code B101E sets which is most likely code for the blend door actuator with reported symptoms. Commanded blend door, mode door and recirc doors with scanner and all were performing as commanded. Can not duplicate symptom at this time. Advised to reevaluate if symptom recurs and replace blend door actuator.
  • Replace exhaust system with customer supplied parts.

  • Air filter dirty black. No leaks found. No other obvious indicators of oil consumption.

  • Tech Note (Test Drive): Brake pulsation heavier at highway speeds felt in wheel and seat. Need to get closer look at brakes. Clunking felt when going from coast to accel. Maybe loose mount Burning oil smell and smoke coming off rear exhaust manifold. Engine oil overfull but clean. LOF shows overdue by sticker Both sliding doors have problems. Right side motor/cable problem. Left side does not open at all. Would need additional diag to estimate cost of these repairs. Air filter: clean LIGHTS & WIPERS – Wipers ok. High mount stop lamp out. Left license plate light is out. BATTERY – ___224____ / ____730____ CCA battery tests bad BELT & HOSES – all ok FLUIDS: Transmission – dark – flush recommended – Brake – fluid good <1% moisture Power Steering – good. power steering fluid reservoir is zip tied on Coolant – good to -34'f SUSPENSION: Shocks & Stabilizers – ok Ball Joints – ok Control Arm Bushings – rear bushings are tearing on both sides. Will need control arms at some point but not 911 Wheel Bearings – good and tight STEERING: Inner & Outer Tie Rods – good Intermediate I Shaft – good BRAKES & TIRES – 3 tires from 2022 with 6-8/32" of tread. LR tire is from 2014 with cracking on shoulder and sidewall. Should have 1 tire replaced. See line for brake check. TECHNICIAN NOTE (Other things noted): Found rear motor mount bad and causing the clunk when driving. Not safety or 911 Passenger front inner fender splash shield is damaged from the tire and also damaged the washer hose.
  • No evidence of timing belt having been replaced. Honda recommendation for timing belt replacement is 105,000 miles. Usually technicians will place a sticker showing when replaced and due again but none found. The timing cover doesn't appear to have been disturbed. Recommend doing timing belt and water pump at same time. This is an interference engine and timing belt breakage results in engine failure.
  • Pulsation felt in wheel and seat. Removed wheels. All brake pads measure 8mm front and rear. Rotors all worn smooth but LR appears to have been hot. All calipers compressed but slide pins and pads were stuck. Recommend a disc brake caliper service. Additional work would need done to eliminate pulsation but brakes would last a while with a caliper service.
  • Found rear valve cover gasket leaking badly and burning off rear exhaust manifold. Oil overfill and clean past sticker suggests evidence of oil having to be added. Expect to replace valve cover gaskets. Oil pan may also be leaking and is covered with oil but may also all be coming down from above.
