Initial codes stored were p053f, p0087, p0140, p2297. fuel pressure and oxygen sensor codes. cleared codes and test drove. p0140, p0191, and p2297 returned. The performance of the engine felt like a restricted catalytic converter. Also found when the low power rough running issue the fuel rail pressure was too low at 101 psi and requesting 2800 psi. could idle engine and fuel pressure would raise and could accelerate and fuel pressure start to ramp up to 2800 and could see pressure drop off again. Verified the low side fuel pressure was good at 90 psi during the fault. Advise to change the high pressure fuel pump and reevaluate. also there is a noted slight engine run on when engine turned off. May have issues with catalytic converter and oxygen sensor.
completed. test drove and verified fuel rail pressure now matching the requested pressure. the engine seems quieter at idle also. The fuel pump shaft was broken on old pump. One oxygen sensor code returned while testing after repair but light did not come on. Will need further diagnosis for this and other recommendations made at a later date.
completed. the engine oil should be changed more often there is carbon build up/sludge from engine oil brakeing down.

CABIN AIR FILTER – Remove & Replace
Found drip from oil pan drain bolt. Found lots of residual oil on subframe behind drain bolt. Could see no other points of concern at valve cover, oil filter or any lines. Removed air filter housing from throttle body to look for any oil pooling from PCV. All air passages dry. Air filter dirty. Recommend replacing air filter.

All steering and suspension in good condition. Belts and hoses ok. Brake fluid tests at 2% moisture. OK for now. Coolant looks and tests ok. Kia maint. recommends flush at 60-90k miles. Found that a belt was missing for water pump and alternator. both the alternator and water pump would spin properly by hand. Advising to replace the belt and reevaluate. Note: vehicle is due for a timing belt and the engine oil level was very low. Please monitor engine oil level.
Replaced the alternator belt. verified no other symptoms at this time. Belt remained intact while testing after repair, alternator remained charging properly and the coolant pump was keeping engine cool.
Replaced the timing belt and water pump. Topped off the coolant in the system, bled the system for air, verified the engine ran fine at normal operating temperature and the cabin heat worked fine. Job completed.
